Introduction
The Balatonfüredi Kerektemplom (Round Church in Balatonfüred) is one of the town's most iconic and well-known buildings. Built between 1841 and 1846 based on the designs of Antal Fruhmann, the classicist-style church got its well-known name from its unique circular floor plan. With its dome and columned façade, the church is reminiscent of the Roman Pantheon, making it a remarkable sight from religious and architectural perspectives.
Operating as a branch of the Benedictine Abbey of Tihany, the church regularly hosts masses, weddings and cultural events. Its clean, harmonious interior design and excellent acoustics make it particularly well-suited to musical events.
Location & Accessibility
The Round Church is located in the centre of Balatonfüred, on Blaha Lujza Street. Visitors arriving by car can use the paid car park, and those arriving by local bus will find that the church is a two-minute walk from the nearest stop.
