Introduction

A The Balaton Observatory is one of Hungary's most innovative centres for astronomy experiences. The institution aims to present the secrets of the universe in an exciting way to people of all ages, through activities such as telescope demonstrations, interactive lectures and virtual planet tours.

Visitors can enjoy multidimensional projections, learn how the solar system works, observe the surface of the moon, and embark on a "cosmic journey". Programmes include summer sky presentations, moon photography and themed events such as 'A Week Under the Stars'.

Location & Accessibility

The Balaton Observatory is located in Balatonfűzfő, on the grounds of the Municipal Stadium along Nike Boulevard. It is easily accessible by car and there is free parking available opposite the stadium. Those choosing public transport can reach the nearest bus stop in just a few minutes on foot. The entrance is via the small stadium gate, where a signposted footpath leads to the building.
