Basalt Trail 2025

This year again, runners will take over one of Hungary’s most scenic basalt quarries. Participants will run through the grounds of a still-operating stone quarry.

From the highest point of Uzsa, there is a breathtaking panoramic view of Lake Balaton, Somló Hill, Sümeg, the Tapolca Basin, and the iconic monadnocks.

The race distance is 10.5 kilometers. The participant limit is 200. Awards are given in three age categories and by gender.

On the more than two-kilometer-long section leading up to the quarry, participants will face a significant elevation gain.
